Alphabetic Mask Characters:
Character Description
L Placeholder for one alphabetic character (A through
Z or a through z)
Entry is required and the Mandatory field property is
selected automatically.

Z or a through z), hyphen, single quote, period, or
space
Entry not required. Unentered data become spaces
when the data is saved, displayed in the card or
report preview, or printed on a card or report.
B Placeholder for one uppercase alphabetic character
(A through Z)
Entry is required and the Mandatory field property is
selected automatically. Lowercase characters are
converted to uppercase upon entry.
